15s for ’15: Top 15 albums, songs & party beats of 2015

The year in music earns one more glance back with our Top 15 lists for 2015. check these gay charts for the 15 best songs, albums and party tracks.
By Buck Cooke
Our Top 15 lists for the year that was run a gamut of musical moments, including big splashes from icons like Madonna, Janet, and Reba; big blasts from Ellie Goulding, the Weeknd, and Maroon 5; genre-changing collections from Don Henley (from rock to country) and, in a way, Justin Bieber (from pop to EDM).

Of course, it includes the universal musical moment that dominated the end of the year, Adele. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

This year saw some stunningly well-made albums, running the gamut from country to EDM and pure pop. Some of these albums may not have been on everyone’s lips, but they should have been. Darlene Love was finally able to come out of the shadows and into the spotlight after a full career as a background singer (in her 70s!) and Ryan Adam’s song-by-song rock cover of Taylor Swift’s “1989” album was sublimely perfect. In our world of track-by-track downloads, it’s refreshing to find artists still making a collection of songs that form a cohesive body of work.

TOP 15 SONGS OF 2015

2015 saw some huge dance anthems that took the world by storm, tender ballads that warmed the heart, and panty droppers for getting buys. Adele slayed the competition, Janet and Missy set the world on fire, and Ed Sheeran extolled the virtues of capturing time (and feelings!) with photographs. Here are 15 of the best, from the genre-defining to the genre-defying.
