Dating Resolutions

Everyone is talking about resolutions. By now it’s mostly the ones they made and weren’t able to keep. While quitting smoking, or working out more are great resolutions, I’ve decided to compile a few resolutions you should make in your dating life.

Firstly if you find yourself single, maybe it’s time to readjust your preferences. I have a friend who rarely dates and the reason behind this is mainly because he’s just too picky.  He’s a good looking kid but not a ten and he has a serious aversion to anyone who might have 5 extra pounds on them. I would almost find this understandable if he spent all his free time in the gym, but he doesn’t. Sometimes it’s just good to readjust your priorities.

My second dating resolution has to do with exes. I’ve been guilty of talking about my exes early on in a relationship or a first date but it wasn’t until it was done to me that I really realized the impact. Just don’t do it. Nobody wants to be compared to someone you loved but they never met. On another note, you should HIGHLY avoid showing them nude pictures or sex movies you guys made together. For me it’s not even about measuring up to your ex, but how do I know how safe my nude pics are with you if you’re showing me some other guys?

Finally my last dating resolution fit’s into the previous one. Maybe you don’t have an ex to talk about and are searching for an exciting topic and decide to tell sex stories. Mistake. While this usually starts out fun, “I had sex in the milk fridge at Kroger…” it can lead into some dicey territory. I’ve been on dates where I tell a “crazy sex story” that they recognized from his roommate. Needless to say we didn’t make it to a second date. There is a thin line between portraying yourself as sexually adventurous and just a plain ole whore.
